Two-way, full-range 8-inch coaxial loudspeaker

The professional high-power installation loudspeaker system shall be a two-way full-range design incorporating an 8-inch (200 mm) low-frequency neodymium transducer with a 2-inch (50.8 mm) voice coil and a high-frequency compression driver with a 1.4-inch (35.5 mm) voice coil mounted coaxially with the LF transducer. 

The coverage shall be 125° conical and respect Direct Match Transition (DMT) technology.

The loudspeaker system shall be capable of operation in either passive mode or bi-amped with a crossover frequency of 1700Hz in passive mode and 1500Hz in bi-amp mode.

The loudspeaker system shall meet the following performance criteria: frequency response of 63 Hz to 20 kHz, measured on-axis; sensitivity (1W @ 1m) of minimum 97 dB SPL in free field; maximum rated SPL at 1m (passive) of 112 dB continuous and 124 dB peak (crest factor of 12 dB); rated power capacity (passive) of continuous 230W based on a two-hour power test; nominal impedance of 8 Ohms.

The loudspeaker system input connectors shall include both two NL4 Speakon connectors and one Euroblock connector.

The 57° trapezoidal loudspeaker enclosure shall be constructed of 15 mm Baltic birch exterior plywood and finished in black polyurea paint (RAL 9011). The front of the loudspeaker shall be protected by an 18-Gauge (1.2 mm) powder-coated steel grille that is lined with acoustically transparent backing and a stainless metallic screen to prevent water ingress and is free of logos or other embellishment. This grille shall be treated against UV and corrosion. The loudspeaker shall be IP54, and all exterior fasteners shall be stainless steel. The input cup shall be protected by a sealing plate.

The enclosure shall have nine M10 threaded-insert mounting points (two on each side, two on the top and bottom, one on the back) for suspension via eye bolts, two M8 inserts located on center of gravity on the top and bottom for an optional yoke bracket as well as three 4-hole pattern (4 x 2.25 pitch, M6) located on top, bottom and rear.

The loudspeaker system enclosure shall be 16.1 inches (410 mm) high, 11 inches (280 mm) wide, and 9.3 inches (236 mm) deep. The loudspeaker shall have a net weight of no more than 24 lbs (10.9 kg).

The two-way full-range loudspeaker system shall be the Q-SYS PL-CA8 loudspeaker.
